Sustenance

When Jesus commanded us to observe communion, He said to do it in memory of Him. What was the "this" in "Do this in memory of Me"? (Luke 22:19) He was sharing a meal with the disciples. He was basically saying, "The blood and body, My sacrifice - My love for you - is to be your bread and wine. My love sustains you."

When He commanded us to pray, "give us today our daily bread..." (Matthew 6:11) Jesus did want us to pray for our physical needs. However, it is also a prayer for "Lord, please help us see your love for us - our sustenance."
